Critics Review
The most delightful parts of Rare Tongues are the most eccentric… extremely interesting. * The Scotsman * Any book such as this linguistic tour of some of the world’sexotic, hidden and endangered languages is to be welcomed with sobbing gratitude. * The Spectator * A thought-provoking tour of the diversity within the world’s languages - and a strong case for their preservation. * Kirkus * Lorna Gibb’s Rare Tongues offers a fresh and personal perspective and lots of intersting facts for people who love languages, giving a kaleidoscopic tour of linguistic curiosities and principles. – K. David Harrison
