Critics Review
Challenging and disturbing, The Melting is an incredibly cruel fable about friendship and adolescence … Lize Spit raises the tension and accelerates the suspense until reaching a dark and majestic ending … She knows no fear. It is we, the readers, that are left trembling. – Leïla Slimani * Le Monde *The Melting is like a long-range missile that at first only casts a dark shadow as it flies overhead, apparently without causing any damage, but then strikes its target with calculated precision. * De Standaard *So good you can hardly believe it’s a first novel. * Information *Fascinating … Terrifying, dark, both foreign and familiar, this first novel leaves a taste of delicious unease. * L’Express *Engrossing, elegant, terrifying. A perfect literary thriller. – Catherine Lacey
