Jupiter has been perceived for centuries as the 'GreaterBenefic', and many astrologers assume that this planet will always herald goodfortune, opportunities for betterment, and material and emotional rewards.Sometimes this interpretation is entirely valid. At other times it isn't.Jupiter's expression, in an individual life and on a collective level, israrely simple and sometimes anything but benefic, and Jupiter transits can reveal a contradictorypicture. Sometimes great opportunities arise and life is enhanced. Sometimesthe transit coincides with the collapse of relationships, financial hardship,the onset of serious illness, and even death. Sometimes both expressions occurat once. And in natal charts, Jupiter aspects are not always benign in theaccepted sense of the word. In astrology, several planets are associated withcomplexity and mystery, especially Neptune and Pluto. But Jupiter is in someways the most enigmatic of all the heavenly bodies in our solar system. Whatdoes Jupiter really symbolise? These three seminars given by Liz Greene for CPAand MISPA students in 2021 explore the enigmatic, paradoxical, andunpredictable Jupiter to find a clearer understanding of this tricky andmagical planet.

Liz Greene has been a professional astrologer for nearly sixty years. She holds doctorates in both psychology and history and is a qualified Jungian analyst. She also holds the diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies, of which she is a lifetime Patron, and was a tutor for several years on the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology for Bath Spa University and the University of Wales, Lampeter. She is the author of many books on astrological, psychological and mythological themes, which have been translated into a number of different languages, and also worked with Dr. Alois Treindl of Astrodienst to create a number of computer-generated astrological interpretation programmes that are available in many languages. She lives in Cornwall.
