Colleen Murphy
Colleen Murphy is a proud mother of three, a children’s book author, and a lifelong poet. Her previous work as a CPA, JD, and middle school teacher reveal her pursuit of lifelong learning. She loves leading a Making Room for Rhyme critique group and serves as a co-administrator for its umbrella organization, which is presently eleven critique groups strong. Beyond rhyming and writing, Colleen thoroughly enjoys playing pickleball, strumming the ukulele, singing, drawing, and running. She currently lives in Sanford, North Carolina, with her husband, near her current sources of inspiration, her three grandsons.
Lilibeth Jimenez
Lilibeth Jimenez is a Mexican-American artist with a degree in digital art and animation. Born and raised in the sunny fields of California, Lilibeth comes from a family of hardworking agricultural laborers who worked in farms that supplied grocery stores with fruits, nuts, and many other foods. She graduated from Cogswell College with a B.A. in Digital Art and Animation, with a focus on entertainment design. Lilibeth is the author-illustrator of It’s Time for Dia de los Muertos (Scholastic, Fall 2025) and the illustrator for John Micklos Jr.’s newest picture book Sad Mad Glad (Penguin Workshop, Spring 2026).
