About The Author
Les Simpson
Stephen has over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry. He began his career in the Australian Army, earning a Vehicle Mechanic qualification. Following his time in the Army, he worked as a vehicle technician, workshop owner and operator, and was involved in service management and training.
Throughout his career, Stephen has worked on armored vehicles, earthmoving equipment, trucks of various sizes, and light vehicles with electrical, mechanical, petrol, diesel, and hydraulics systems. He holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has been a member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers for 30 years.
Stephen’s passion lies in training. He has specialized in the research, development, and delivery of training for dealerships and aftermarket workshops, presenting to technicians and apprentices within the automotive industry for 25 years. He continues to develop and provide training to the Automotive trades, with a vision to assist technicians in being equipped and competent to operate in a very challenging environment.
