About The Author
Les Simpson
Stephen has over 40 years experience in the automotive industry. He started his career in the Australian Army where he gained a Vehicle Mechanic qualification. After working in the Army, he then went on to become a vehicle technician, a workshop owner and operator, and was involved in service management and training. Throughout his career Stephen worked on armored vehicles, earthmoving equipment, trucks of various sizes and light vehicles with electrical, mechanical, petrol, diesel and hydraulics systems. He holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has been a member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers for 30 years. Stephens passion in life is training. He has specialised in research, development and delivery of training for dealerships and aftermarket workshops to present to technicians and apprentices within the automotive industry for 25 years. He is still developing and providing training to the Automotive trades with a vision to assist technicians to be equipped and competent to operate in what is a now a very challenging environment.
