Summary

Egil’s Saga: A Warrior’s Tale of Blood, Poetry, and Honor

A new edition of one of the most celebrated Icelandic sagas and a cornerstone of Scandinavian literature – a gripping story of love, hate, and the enduring power of friendship.

Egil’s Saga chronicles the long and violent life of Egil Skallagrimsson, a tenth-century warrior-poet and farmer. A complex and morally ambiguous figure, Egil was both a master of beautiful verse and a man capable of shocking brutality.
