Critic Reviews

“What a splendid idea! The abundant riches of John Owen's writings ... in a form that is accessible and easy to absorb.”

What a splendid idea! The abundant riches of John Owen’s writings … in a form that is accessible and easy to absorb.

-- Simonetta Carr

Lee Gatiss has done us a great service in producing an accessible collection of bite–size chunks of the rich diet offered by Owen. By tracking Owen’s life this book provides a great introduction to Owen and his thought. But best of all it enables us to marvel afresh at our glorious Saviour.

-- Tim Chester

It’s easy for readers to feel intimidated by the works of England’s greatest puritan theologian. But this new book shows how much of Owen’s writing has a devotional purpose  and,in daily readings of two or three paragraphs, allows readers to build theological stamina over time.

-- Crawford Gribben

I pray these bite–sized morsels of devotions on the Word with John Owen as commentator, will help believers not only understand Owen, but through him, to know the Lord.

-- Daniel R. Hyde
