The world we know is only the beginning. Beneath the surface and between the moonbeams is another, more magical world. A world just out of sight, where flowers sing and birds and animals walk together with the little people of fairyland.

The world we know is only the beginning. Beneath the surface and between the moonbeams is another, more magical realm. All magic comes from this place, through doorways that only the fairies can open. And at its centre is the Fairythorn Tree - the oldest tree in any garden, wood or park, and home to the tiny fairies who live in its branches.
When the fairies' pet draglings get scooped up by Big Alice who's pond-dipping for school, it's up to Posy to rescue the draglings before the Bigs discover what they've caught.
Lara Faraway is the pseudonym of writer Sara Starbuck. Sara left university to become a dancer, appearing in white jump suits in appalling pop videos, but returned to complete a degree in English, with writing and publishing. She put her degree to good use by running away to America with a rock band and working as a waitress. On her return to London, Sara started working in book publishing. Sara has worked as an editor, writer and freelance consultant in children's books. She lives in West Sussex with her husband, Toby, and their young son, Tom.
