About The Author

KVR Ravi Shankar

K.V.R. Ravi Shankar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NIT Warangal, Telangana, India. He received his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay in 2011 and has 20 years of experience in teaching and research. His research interests include innovative road safety strategies, machine learning applications for traffic management and road safety, and pedestrian and crowd behavior modeling.

Professor Ravi Shankar has supervised 8 Ph.D. theses (with 4 more in progress) and 64 M.Tech. project works. He has authored approximately 90 publications in leading international journals and conferences. In 2020, he was awarded the Young Researcher [Engineering] Award by the NIT Warangal Alumni Association. He has received research grants from SPARC, the Department of Science and Technology, and MoRTH, and collaborates with Lund University, Sweden, and UNSW, Australia. He has undertaken consultancy projects involving toolkit development, traffic management planning, intersection design, and road safety improvement. He serves as a reviewer for several transportation-related journals and is an invited expert on road safety topics.

Bhadradri Raghuram Kadali is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW). Professor Raghuram earned his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay in 2017 and holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from NIT Warangal. He has 8 years of experience in teaching and research.

Dr. Raghuram has guided 1 Ph.D. student, 20 M.Tech dissertations, and 5 B.Tech project works, with 3 research scholars currently pursuing their Ph.D. He has successfully completed three externally funded R&D projects as the principal investigator and is associated with two other projects as a co-principal investigator. His current research focuses on traffic safety, pedestrian travel behavior, and transportation planning. He has published 50 papers in reputed journals and international conferences.
