The Menopause Moment breaks through myths with humor, clarity, and expert knowledge, helping women embrace midlife with confidence and vitality. Dr. Casperson’s book is a must-read for women seeking to optimize their health. * Tamsen Fadal, Journalist, Podcaster and Author of How to Menopause *
With her wonderful new book, Dr. Kelly Casperson meets The Menopause Moment head on. Dr. Casperson provides an accessible and informative account of the changes that women undergo during menopause, making the latest science approachable and empowering women to take charge of this chapter in their lives. In my advocacy work, I’ve had the privilege of learning from Dr. Casperson, and I feel lucky enough to call her a friend. She tells it how it is - and is always guided by how she can help women to feel their very best. This time of our lives is not the end-and Dr. Casperson gives women the tools to embrace this life stage with confidence and knowledge.
* Naomi Watts, actor, advocate, and bestselling author of Dare I Say It: Everything I Wish I’d Known About Menopause *Kelly is clever, inquisitive and a fantastic educator - this book is a wonderful combination of evidence, science, humour and experience to educate everyone about hormones and health. For far too long, there has been so much misinformation about hormones and their benefits; this book will change knowledge and improve the health of women who learn from it. We should no longer be scared of hormones and this book is a wonderful way to learn more and demystify so much about menopause. * Dr Louise Newson, UK Physician, Menopause specialist, educator, researacher and founder of Balance app, Newson Health and Dr Louise Newson podcast *Dr. Kelly Casperson has been nothing short of monumental in changing the global conversation around female sexual health-and in The Menopause Moment, she brings that same fire, clarity, and fearless advocacy to the next chapter of women’s lives. With her unique ability to blend cutting-edge science, clinical wisdom, and deep compassion, Kelly empowers readers to challenge outdated narratives and reclaim agency over their bodies, desires, and health. This book is bold, timely, and deeply necessary-just like the woman who wrote it. * Mary Claire Haver, MD FACOG, CNMP Author of The New Menopause *After years of learning and choosing to love my body, I thought I understood it-until menopause arrived unannounced and sent my hormones on another exciting roller coaster ride. This book provides a pathway to putting yourself first - Dr. Kelly breaks it all down, cutting through confusion with honest talk about hormones, sexuality, and reclaiming control. We need to reframe how we approach midlife, replacing fear with knowledge and embarrassment with empowerment. This guide helped me finally understand what was actually happening. Thanks Dr. Kelly. * Jennie Garth, actress, designer, advocate and host of the ‘I Choose Me Podcast’ *The Menopause Moment is a must-read for any woman ready to reclaim her health, redefine aging, and confidently step into longevity. With clarity, compassion, and clinical precision, Dr. Casperson delivers a roadmap every woman deserves. * Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, Author of NYT’s Best Seller Forever Strong and founder of Muscle Centric Medicine. *“Evidence based? shame free? empowering as hell?” add irreverent, brilliant, fierce and loving and you have aptly described Dr. Kelly Casperson’s outstanding second book. Dr. Casperson speaks and writes this engaging reference-meets-memoir with the conviction of a true patient advocate, the heart of a seeker and the well trained mind of a perennial student and teacher. Whether you desire to better understand or anticipate your own experience or to manage the care of your clients and patients, I cant more highly recommend a book for the lay public and those who care for them. * Suzanne Gilberg, MD author and founder of Menopause Bootcamp, Chief Clinical Officer or Monarch MD *I laughed and learned throughout the book, feeling like I was sitting right next to Dr. Casperson on the couch conversing with her. This will be a game-changer for women entering menopause. * Heather Hirsch MD, MS, MSCP menopause expert, author Unlock Your Menopause Type and The Perimenopause Survival Guide *Dr. Kelly Casperson’s The Menopause Moment does so much more than mark the rapid rise in public attention to menopause. It lays the groundwork for a long overdue menopause movement - one in which women are armed with the information and perspective they need to truly thrive in midlife and beyond. Making menopause sexy - with education and expert advice firmly rooted in science - are among Dr. Casperson’s great gifts. Count this generation lucky to have her. * Jennifer Weiss-Wolf, Executive Director of Birnbaum Women’s Leadership Center at NYU Law, Advocate, and Author of Periods Gone Public *Menopause and the time leading up to it affects every part of the body. Thankfully the work of Dr Kelly Casperson and her colleagues advocates for a whole person biopsychosocial approach that prioritizes the individual’s goals for their longevity and quality of life. When we give people knowledge and information about how the body works, they make excellent health care choices for themselves! * Rachel S. Rubin MD, Urologist, Sexual Medicine Specialist and Assistant clinical professor in Urology at Georgetown University Hospital *Think of Dr. Kelly as your spikey-haired, protective big sister with a medical degree and a mission to simplify all of this for her sisters. She keeps it blunt, funny and so relatable. The Menopause Moment breaks it all down so the second half of your life can be truly amaze-balls (despite what you’ve heard!) - And as a bonus with her hormone insight, you’ll be able to laugh out loud (without peeing your pants)! * Chalene Johnson, Celebrity Fitness Trainer, Podcast Host, and Author of 131 Method *Another insightful and informative addition to the growing collection of books on menopause. While I found this book incredibly helpful-especially in introducing me to the estrogen patch and encouraging me to explore it further-I do wish there were more resources that delve specifically into the nuances of early menopause and life after menopause. Menopause may be a natural phase, but let’s be honest-it’s no walk in the park. Still, this book offered both clarity and validation, which I deeply appreciated. Many thanks to NetGalley and John Murray Press US | Sheldon Press for providing an eARC of The Menopause Moment: Mindset, Hormones and Science for Optimal Longevity prior to publication.
– Michelle Hajder * NetGalley *A great read which gave plenty of information about peri menopause and menopause in a positive way.I liked the lay out of the book and the chapter takeaways at the end of each chapter.A must read for all women over 40.Thanks to Netgalkey, Kelly Casperson and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
– Angela Owen * NetGalley *I’ve read a lot of books about perimenopause and menopause in the past decade. I only read books by doctors or trusted health professionals to avoid the bs that surrounds Women’s health.Casperson’s book was fabulous. Up to date information and research (with oodles of notes and the back of the book) all told in a conversational, lighthearted way. There was lots of detailed discussion about hormones that I found fascinating as well as information about sexual health and desire in menopausal women that I was grateful for. The practical stuff was American-centric, but it has given me enough information about the results of new studies to talk to my doctor about what alternatives might be available in Australia.Highly recommended for any woman over 35 (and her partner).
– Bronwyn Richens * NetGalley *What strikes me most is the author’s emphasis on dismantling fear-based narratives around menopause. Too often, women navigate this transition with outdated information and cultural shame. Casperson’s science-backed approach combined with empowerment messaging suggests this could be genuinely liberating for readers who’ve felt confused or dismissed by traditional medical approaches. – Natasha Birham * NetGalley *I jumped at the opportunity to read and review Dr. Kelly Casperson’s new book, The Menopause Moment. Dr. Casperson is a urologist who strongly advocates for women’s education about thier own bodies and access to hormonal treatment. I came across Dr. Casperson years ago on YouTube when I was searching for information about pelvic floor dysfunction. She provides complicated information in an easy to understand manner and provides research based solutions. Unlike the solutions she had for pelvic floor dysfunction, many of the solutions she provides in The Menopause Moment, are not currently available to all women. This book is more than a resource for women considering menopause hormone therapy, it is a push for rethinking how to treat the symptoms of menopause. I encourage everyone to read this book and consider how our current healthcare system treats women and views menopause. Thank you to Dr. Casperson, Sheldon Press, and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy of The Menopause Mooment. – Lisa Lee * NetGalley *Grateful to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.As a women going through this cycle of life and an RN it is important to have correct information and have it delivered at an enjoyable personal level, it was as if being in consultation where the doctor actually spends the time you need to understand and helps you make decisions for yourself. The author Dr Casperson felt like a friend giving me the lowdown and she is funny! Loved the honesty and reality. Highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with menopause or has a loved one going through it. – Becky Boulger * NetGalley *The Menopause Moment is a refreshing, empowering, and much-needed resource that cuts through the confusion and stigma surrounding midlife and menopause. Kelly Casperson delivers science-based insights with clarity and compassion, helping women understand what’s really happening in their bodies-without fearmongering or outdated myths. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all prescription; instead, Casperson offers readers the knowledge to make informed choices about hormones, health, and longevity. It’s part science, part mindset shift, and completely affirming. As more women raise their voices around this once-taboo topic, books like this feel revolutionary in their honesty and helpfulness. The only thing holding it back from a perfect rating is a desire for even more real-life applications or stories-but as an educational foundation, it’s powerful. For anyone navigating or approaching menopause, this is an essential, sanity-saving guide.
– Chrystal Mahan * NetGalley *Thank you NetGalley and Sheldon Press for this eCopy to review. The Menopause Moment by Dr. Kelly Casperson is a bold, science-backed, and empowering book, which is part manifesto, part medical guide, and part pep talk for every woman who’s ever felt dismissed, confused, or overwhelmed by midlife.
