About The Author
Karl Popper
Karl Popper (1902-1994) was an Austrian-British philosopher, academic and social commentator. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential philosophers of science of the 20th century. Popper is known for his rejection of the classical inductivist views on the scientific method, in favour of empirical falsification. He is also renowned for his staunch defence of liberal democracy and the principles of social criticism that he believed made it possible for human knowledge and open societies to advance. His key works include The Logic of Scientific Discovery, The Open Society and Its Enemies, and Conjectures and Refutations.
