Karl Marx
Karl Marx (1818-1883)
Karl Marx was a philosopher, social scientist, historian, and revolutionary. He is widely regarded as the most influential socialist thinker of the nineteenth century. Though largely overlooked by academics during his lifetime, his social, economic, and political theories gained significant traction within the socialist movement following his death. In Paris, Marx forged a lifelong intellectual collaboration with Friedrich Engels (1820-1895).
Eugene Kamenka (died 1994)
Eugene Kamenka was a lecturer in philosophy at the University of Singapore and headed the History of Ideas Unit at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the Australian National University.
