Karl E. Spear, PhD

Professor Emeritus of Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State. Fellow of the American Ceramic Society and recipient of the ACerS Spriggs Phase Equilibria Award. He has authored or co-authored 187 publications, book chapters, reviews, and three patents across a distinguished career in high temperature materials science.

Theodore M. Besmann, PhD

Professor and General Atomics SmartState Chair for the Development Transformational Nuclear Technologies at the University of South Carolina, with a Joint Faculty Appointment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. A Fellow of both ACerS and the American Nuclear Society, he has authored or co-authored over 250 publications and holds 8 patents.
