Karen Brooks is the author of sixteen books, spanning historical fiction, historical fantasy, YA fantasy, and one non-fiction title. She was an academic for over 20 years, served as a newspaper columnist, and was a social commentator. She holds a Ph.D. in English/Cultural Studies and has published internationally on popular culture, education, and social psychology.
An award-winning teacher, Brooks has taught across Australia and in The Netherlands, and has given keynotes at numerous education conferences. Currently, she finds the greatest contentment in studying history and writing, and assisting her husband at their Brewstillery, Captain Bligh’s.
