He is an applied statistician with particular application to human motion, air pollution, anxiety and depression, astronomy, cleft lip and palate, flooding, fungicides, fuel filters, marketing, obesity and wastewater-based epidemiology. He earned a PhD in statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.
