Summary

Atheism: A Very Short Introduction

Atheism is often misunderstood as a negative or pessimistic belief, characterized by a rejection of values, purpose, and a fierce opposition to religion. This Very Short Introduction dispels these myths, arguing that much of Western atheism is defined only by its existence in a theistic norm.

Julian Baggini asserts that atheists are typically naturalists, believing that meaning and morality are possible within a finite, natural world.
