About The Author
Juho Wilskman
Dr. Juho Wilskman studied History at the University of Helsinki. He was awarded his PhD in 2021 with a dissertation titled Comparing Military Cultures: Warfare in the Aegean Region from the Fourth Crusade to the Early Fifteenth Century. He can read sources and research written in ten languages. Wilskman has published numerous articles in various academic journals and a Finnish monograph for a wider audience that covers entire medieval warfare in general. He is a member of several scholarly bodies and currently holds the presidency of the Finnish Society for Byzantine Studies. He also practices Viking fencing!
