Critics Review

“This is an important book not only for Brazil, but for the world. It takes us inside a massive corruption network that feeds on society. The authors’ gripping narrative should wake us up to the realization that corruption is a parasite that, if tolerated, will ultimately kill its host.” * Edward Steir *
Scathing about the distorted priorities imposed by the war on drugs: tens of thousands of poor Brazilians have been locked up while the crimes of the rich and powerful have often gone unpunished. * The Economist *
As senior investigators in several of the most high-profile Lava Jato (Car Wash) investigations, Jorge Pontes and Márcio Anselmo are well-placed observers of how Brazil’s corrupt politico-industrial complex functions. * Times Literary Supplement *
