Jon Macks
Jon Macks is the author of six previous books and was a top writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for all twenty-two years Leno was on the air. He has also written for eighteen Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards, the Golden Globes, the Tony Awards, and for some of the nation’s top comedians, politicians, corporate leaders, and sports commentators. Among the personalities Macks writes for are Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Steve Martin, Hugh Jackman, Terry Bradshaw, and Chris Rock. He has written six books, with the latest being Monologue: What Makes America Laugh Before Bed, as well as Still Laughing: A Life in Comedy (From the Creator of Laugh-In) with George Schlatter. He lives in Los Angeles.
Martin Short is an Emmy- and Tony Award-winning Canadian-born actor and comic, adored for his work on SCTV and Saturday Night Live, as well as in such acclaimed movies as ¡Three Amigos!, Father of the Bride, and Inherent Vice, not to mention dozens of memorable talk-show, prime-time, and theatrical appearances, from TV’s Damages to his one-man Broadway hit Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.
