Critics Review
‘East Coast Fishing is a vivid, visual portrait of those working in what is left of the fishing communities. The photographs and the words come together so well, thanks to John, who has followed the lives of the coastal fishing communities for the voice of the industry, Fishing News, for more than 20 years.’ – Eastern Daily Press Online, July 2025‘The book’s compelling word-and-picture portraits of individual fishermen serve as a counterpoint to the dispiriting analysis of the pressures on the inshore fleet, and a manifesto for the need to support and preserve it.’ – Fishing News, August 2025‘John Worrall has captured some excellent scenes for this landscape collection and while there are many cautionary tales of the modern state of east coast fishing, there are some who are successful with honed down operations.’ – Best of British Magazine, September 2025
