About the Author

Joel Hathaway is a native of Mississippi. He studied English Literature, Creative Writing, and Studio Art at the University of Alabama. He received a Master of Divinity (2004) and a Doctor of Ministry (2016) from Covenant Theological Seminary. He has penned opinion-editorials for the Atlanta Journal, Miami Herald, and Washington Post Times, but has rejection letters from most of the top newspapers in the country. He placed fourth in the 2003 HarperCollins Publishers "C.S. Lewis Essay Contest" and runner up in the 2001 Acton Institute for Study of Religion and Liberty contest. He has served in the non-profit sector for 30 years, with vocational experience in leadership, organizational behavior, marketing, recruitment, coaching, consulting, and writing.
