About The Author
Joanna Orwin
Joanna Orwin was born in Nelson and educated at Canterbury University where she studied botany, geography, and Maori language and culture. She worked for over 30 years as a science editor, but since leaving Landcare research in 1998 she has researched and written on New Zealand history, culture and natural science. She is also a prize winning author of historical and adventure novels for children and young adults, all with a strong sense of landscape.
