J.M. DeMatteis

J.M. DeMatteis, a native New Yorker, has been one of comics’ most respected writers for nearly three decades. His work ranges from the introspective psychological drama of Moonshadow to the offbeat comedy of Justice League to the autobiographical Brooklyn Dreams. His long list of credits includes Captain America, Defenders, Justice League International, the groundbreaking Spider-Man storyline “Kraven’s Last Hunt,” Spectre and more. His recent work includes the acclaimed children’s novel Imaginalis and the popular comics-prose hybrid Abadazad books.

J. Michael Straczynski made pop-culture history with the epic TV series Babylon 5. He penned Top Cow’s Rising Stars, leading to an offer from Marvel to write Amazing Spider-Man, a title he revolutionized. “JMS” went on to write Supreme Power, Fantastic Four, Bullet Points, The Twelve and a fan-favorite revival of Thor. He shares a writing credit on Marvel’s Thor feature film. JMS’ screenplay for Changeling was directed by Clint Eastwood and starred Angelina Jolie, while his other movie credits include Underworld- Awakening and World War Z. For DC Comics, he has written iconic characters Superman and Wonder Woman.

Elena Casagrande, a graduate of the International School of Comics in Rome, began her career as artist David Messina’s assistant, kicking off a long relationship with IDW Publishing that has seen her work on such series as Star Trek, The Ghost Whisperer, Angel, Infestation and True Blood. Casagrande’s Marvel credits include Marvel Heartbreakers, Spitfire, Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk.

Marcelo Ferreira has built an impressive resume at Marvel on titles including Amazing Spider-Man, Morbius and Spider-Force. He illustrated almost the entire run of Strange, featuring Clea as the Sorcerer Supreme. Elsewhere, the artist has tackled a diverse array of iconic properties including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, Call of Duty and Angry Birds.
