Patient Assessment Tutorials: a Step-by-Step Guide for the Dental Hygienist

Jill S. Gehrig is the author of three dental hygiene textbooks: Fundamentals of Periodontal Instrumentation & Advanced Root Instrumentation 9th edition, Foundations of Periodontics for the Dental Hygienist 6th edition, and Patient Assessment Tutorials for the Dental Hygienist 5th edition. Jill is Dean Emeritus at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in North Carolina, where she had administrative responsibility for programs in nursing, dental hygiene, radiology, medical lab technology, phlebotomy, early childhood education, social services, law enforcement, and emergency medical science. Before this, she taught at the University of Manitoba Dental School in Winnipeg, Canada, and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Jill considers her most significant contribution to dental hygiene education to be helping hundreds of students grow as individuals and be successful in their dental hygiene careers. Jill has a master’s degree from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas, a bachelor’s degree in education from Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania, and an R.D.H. from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
