About The Author

Jesse Lipscombe

JESSE LIPSCOMBE is a popular speaker, actor, former athlete, activist and entrepreneur. The Alberta native began his career at fourteen in the film Children of the Dust, which starred Sidney Poitier. At eighteen, he accepted a full athletic scholarship to the prestigious Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he was a breakout track star. Outside of the arts, Lipscombe invests in various businesses and runs a consultancy that works to combat racism, misogyny, homophobia and hatred. In 2017, he received the Obsidian Award for Top Business Leader in Western Canada and was named Community Man of the Year by Diversity magazine. He is also the first Black man to win the AMPIA award for Best Male Acting Performance at the Rosie Awards.
