Jerome Hamon
Jérôme Hamon studied at an American university and business school before beginning his professional life in New York as a financial analyst. Convinced that his true calling lay elsewhere, he left the finance world after two years to travel the globe. Upon returning to France, Hamon worked in various roles within the film, video game, and television industries. Simultaneously, he began writing his first comic book and graphic novel scripts.
In 2008, Hamon traveled to Angoulême to present his completed scripts, where he met artist Marc Van Straceele. Together, they collaborated on “Yokozuna,” a graphic novel exploring sumo wrestling in Japan, published by Kana in 2013. Following this, Hamon partnered with artist Antoine Carrion on “Nils,” a saga blending Nordic mythology with the style of Miyazaki, released by Soleil in 2016. He then created “Emma & Capucine,” a series for younger readers focusing on classical dance and hip-hop, published by Dargaud in 2017 and by Europe Comics in English in 2018. His work “Mitsuo,” with Cedric Babouche, was published by Le Lombard in 2018.
Lena Sayaphoum was born in Montpellier in 1989. Drawing has been central to her life from a young age. Inspired by artists such as James Jean, Peter Chan, Craig Mullins, and Dice Tsutsumi, she gradually developed her own style through self-teaching.
After studying 2D and 3D computer graphics, she worked in various studios as a concept artist, modeler, texture artist, and in posing and shadowing. With Grid VFX, she contributed to projects like “Asterix and Obelix: Mansion of the Gods.”
However, her true passion lay elsewhere. In parallel with her professional work, she continued to develop her own creative worlds, ranging from fantasy to realistic, all marked by a deeply personal touch. In 2017, she collaborated with Jérôme Hamon on their first comic project, “Emma & Capucine,” merging her passion for drawing and illustration with her love for dance.
