About The Author

Jerome Hamon

Jérôme Hamon

Jérôme Hamon began his professional life in New York as a financial analyst after studying at an American university and business school. Seeking a different path, he left finance after two years to travel the world. Upon returning to France, Hamon pursued various roles in film, video games, and television. Concurrently, he started writing his first comic book and graphic novel scripts.

In 2008, he met artist Marc Van Straceele at Angoulême, leading to their collaboration on the graphic novel “Yokozuna,” which explored sumo wrestling in Japan (Kana, 2013). Hamon then partnered with Antoine Carrion for “Nils,” a saga blending Nordic mythology with Miyazaki’s style (Soleil, 2016). This was followed by “Emma & Capucine,” a series for younger readers focusing on classical dance and hip-hop (Dargaud 2017, Europe Comics in English 2018), and “Mitsuo” with Cédric Babouche (Le Lombard, 2018).

Lena Sayaphoum

Born in Montpellier in 1989, Lena Sayaphoum has been passionate about drawing her entire life. Inspired by artists like James Jean, Peter Chan, Craig Mullins, and Dice Tsutsumi, she developed her own artistic style through self-teaching.

After studying 2D and 3D computer graphics, Sayaphoum worked in various studios as a concept artist, modeler, texture artist, and in posing and shadowing roles, contributing to projects such as “Asterix and Obelix: Mansion of the Gods” with Grid VFX.

Parallel to her professional work, she cultivated her own creative worlds, ranging from fantasy to realistic, all deeply personal. In 2017, she collaborated with Jérôme Hamon on their first comic project, “Emma & Capucine,” merging her passion for drawing and illustration with her love for dance.
