Description

Celebrate the generous love of extended families – and beards of all shapes and sizes! – in this playful and funny love letter to uncles and positive male role models.

"The book's unmistakable message about the many things that men (and boys) can and should be proud of being: playful, pretty, and powerful, all at once." Booklist (starred review)

This highly original picture book for bedtime celebrates those less-immediate family members who children may not live with, but who always show up and give their time, energy and love.

Young Eli gets to spend a whole day with his eight adoring uncles – each with a different personality and unique, enviable beard! With lively words from an Emmy-nominated TV writer and bright, imaginative pictures from an award-winning illustrator, join Eli as he says his goodnights one by one after a busy day of treasured time together.

"A fun book to share with little ones. The illustrations and positive male role models are especially commendable." Inclusive Books for Children

Critic Reviews

This is a gorgeous book about a young boy spending the day with his eight uncles who are all incredibly different but have one thing in common – wacky facial hair! A fun book to share with little ones, especially those who love to spend time with their older male relatives. The illustrations and positive male role models are especially commendable. Inclusive Books for Children
It’s the vibrantly coloured, quirky illustrations that animate each uncle; there’s Uncle Aziz in his sports gear and Uncle Aman sporting a cowboy hat and boots for instance. Books for Keeps
