Jean-Martin Fortier

Jean-Martin Fortier

Jean-Martin Fortier is a distinguished farmer, author, and educator who has been a leader in ecological agriculture for over twenty years. Since 2004, he and his wife have operated Les Jardins de la Grelinette, a 2-acre microfarm known as a model for effective human-scale organic farming. In 2015, Jean-Martin founded La Ferme des Quatre-Temps, a research farm focused on training apprentices and developing innovative market gardening strategies, including year-round production. His methods are taught globally through the Market Gardener Institute, with a presence in over 90 countries.

Jean-Martin is the author of The Winter Market Gardener and The Market Gardener, which have collectively sold over a quarter of a million copies and been translated into nine languages. He has been recognized for his contributions to organic and regenerative agriculture with the Meritorious Service Cross from the Governor General of Canada. He resides and farms in Quebec, Canada.

Pierre Nessmann

Pierre Nessmann comes from a family of market gardeners in Strasbourg and holds a degree from the École d’Horticulture de Genève in Switzerland. With over 40 years of experience as a landscape gardener and journalist, he is the assistant editor for the French gardening magazines Rustica Pratique and Rustica Weekly. He contributes gardening and DIY segments to the French television network TF1 and hosts a gardening segment on the show Nous Voil Bien on the French radio station RTL. Pierre has authored several books on vegetable cultivation, gardening, and landscaping and lives in Paris, France.

Flore Avram

Flore Avram is a freelance artist and graphic designer specializing in scientific and botanical illustration. She has a strong collaborative history with the French children’s publisher KiloWatt Editions and Inserm Magazine, a quarterly publication on health and biomedical research. Flore has earned multiple professional certifications in graphic design and scientific illustration from L’École Estienne, a municipal graduate school for arts and the printing industry. She also works as a Mediatrice en botanique at the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil, a notable French natural heritage site and eco-garden. Flore is based in Paris, France.
