About the Author

Jean Fullerton is the author of seven historical novels. She is a qualified District and Queen's nurse who has spent most of her working life in the East End of London, first as a Sister in charge of a team, and then as a District Nurse tutor. She is also a qualified teacher and spent twelve years lecturing on community nursing studies at a London university. She now writes full-time. Billie is a London-based actress and voice artist. She has worked on short films like Somatic and television projects such as Sofia's Diary and Fred Dinenage Murder Casebook. Billie is an award-winning narrator, winning the 2024 Audie for Best Fiction Narrator over Meryl Streep for her performance in Hazel Gaynor's The Last Lifeboat. She has also won seven Earphone Awards, the Best Audiobook Performance Fiction at The One Voice Awards 2023 and 2020, and Best Radio Drama Performance 2021 at The One Voice Awards.
