Javier Garcia Sanchez was born in Barcelona in 1955. He is the prize-winning author of many novels, as well as four collections of short stories and a volume of poetry. For over a decade now he has been working on a book about the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution, centred around the figures of Robespierre and Saint-Just. The Others is the first his novels to the published in the UK.
