'... a man with extraordinarily varied talents.' Lucinda Green MBE 'His commentating career coincided with some of the great moments in equestrian sport - gold for Zara Phillips at the World Championships, gold for the showjumping team in London and the sudden rise in British dressage fortunes thanks to Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester, which gave him three gold medals to describe across London and Rio, before rounding off his Olympic Games commentary with a fairy-tale final individual gold medal for Nick Skelton.' Clare Balding OBE 'Mike was an all-time great commentator and a great mover, shaker and protagonist. I used to call him Lord Tucker of the GoldenVoice and he always called me The Captain! When he ran Tetbury Horse Trials, he wanted to put on an entertainment in the hope it would attract a bigger crowd, which it did. He would always go out of his way to do something special in every walk of life, but it was all for the good of the horse and the sport.' Captain Mark Phillips
