Critics Review
★ “A contemplative tale of patience, gratitude, belonging, and the beauty of the rain.” —Kirkus Reviews, starred review★ “A moving, beautifully crafted addition to Ramadan and Eid collections that is ideal for storytimes, classroom or family discussions, and any setting where empathy and emotional literacy are nurtured.” —School Library Journal, starred review★ “Rainy-day visuals contrast with more vibrant hues in delicate illustrations across a work that employs an apt metaphor—weather—for both the family’s economic anxiety and the main character’s internal turmoil.” —Publishers Weekly, starred review“The vivid text is rife with poetic, sensory details that nonetheless ring true for a child’s narration….Have this on hand for an Eid celebration or for a simple reminder to prioritize people over presents.” —The Bulletin“This meaningful story celebrates family, faith, and gratitude and is perfect for fans of Hena Khan and Reem Faruqi.” —Booklist
