What They're Saying

Critics Review

One of the great American novelists - in any genre. In more than 30 novels over four decades, he has demonstrated repeatedly that he is a supreme storyteller and among the finest writers of contemporary prose - DAILY MAIL on Wayfaring Stranger

James Lee Burke continues to astonish … I cannot think of another writer of crime fiction who has sustained such a level of excellence over so many novels featuring the same character - THE TIMES on The Glass Rainbow

[Burke] richly deserves to be described now as one of the finest crime writers America has ever produced … Spellbinding and dazzlingly observed - if you only buy one crime novel this Christmas make it this one - DAILY MAIL on Light of the World

Menacingly dark but with chinks of glittering perception, Lee Burke is the king of Southern noir - DAILY MIRROR on Feast Day of Fools
