One of King Hussein's closest advisors shares a remarkable insider's account of modern Middle East history. Dr Jamal Nasir advised the King of Jordan through most of the last fifty years of the 20th Century and shares a personal insight on the way events unfolded in Jordan and Palestine, and the wider region.

Dr Jamal Nasir was born in Palestine and obliged to flee as a refugee to Jordan, where he was educated before travelling to London to read Law. He went on to establish a successful law practice and has chambers in Lincoln's Inn, with overseas arms across the Middle East as well as in Nigeria and China. He served for a short while as Jordan's Foreign Minister.
Jonathan Fryer is a distinguished historian, journalist and broadcaster who has written extensively on the Middle East. He is also a British politician, former deputy leader of the London Liberal Democrats.
