What They're Saying
Critics Review
“This beautifully illustrated book offers a month-by-month tour of Van der Kloet’s own garden… It’s rich in seasonal insight, practical advice and visual inspiration - ideal for anyone reshaping or refining their garden this year.”–Platinum Magazine“From Dutch bulb specialist and longtime Piet Oudolf collaborator comes this month-by-month diary of a medium sized garden. It offers practical advice on what bulbs to choose and how to naturalize them (readers will be relieved to learn that she often prefers the cheap, commonly available types), how to choose trees for small gardens, and how to create winter interest with shrubs and ornamental grasses.”–The Financial Times“The book’s narrative is grounded in long experience but delivered in an approachable tone, making it both informative and enjoyable to read. My Garden provides plenty of ideas and inspiration, along with a vivid sense of how good design unfolds over the course of the year.”–Horticulture“Dutch garden designer Van der Kloet invites readers along for a year-long visit in her lush garden. Month by month you’ll see what’s blooming, what problems she’s encountering, and what plants she’s been experimenting with. The beautifully illustrated message is that every garden, even one created by a leading designer, is always a work in progress.” –The American Gardener“A beautiful book by a talented bulb specialist for gardeners who would like to accompany an expert in her garden or incorporate spring and summer-flowering bulbs in their gardens.” –Library Journal“I have been fortunate to meet many people whose knowledge and actions are creating gardens that have transformed my way of understanding, people who question what and how we do something. It is the most forward-thinking visionaries who always seek to evolve their way of thinking and seeing. Jacqueline van der Kloet is one of these visionaries.” –Roy Diblik, author of The Know Maintenance Perennial Garden
