About the Author

Jacky Howell, MA, has been an early childhood educator, consultant, and trainer for more than 40 years in the Washington metropolitan area. She currently writes a column for TYC called Intermission.

Kimberly Reinhard, MSc, has been working in early childhood education for more than 20 years as both a teacher and a director. She also served as the chair of the Week of the Young Child committee for the Northern Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children.
