J. CHRISTOPHER GIANCARLO
Dubbed “CryptoDad” for his celebrated call on Congress to respect a new generation’s interest in cryptocurrency, J. Christopher Giancarlo served as the 13th Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. One of many notable accomplishments of his tenure was greenlighting the introduction of Bitcoin futures, the world’s first regulated market for cryptocurrency derivatives. Giancarlo is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Digital Dollar Project, and serves as a board director, advisor, and investor across numerous public and private technology, digital asset, and financial services companies. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University and his B.A. in government, Phi Beta Kappa, from Skidmore College. He plays guitar and banjo in the New York area band, The Crypto Kings.
LUKE GIANCARLO
Luke Giancarlo is the Digital Asset Americas Market Lead at Standard Chartered, driving the bank’s digital asset strategy and client engagement. Previously at Accenture’s Technology Innovation Strategy Group, Luke created its Digital Currency Treasury offering and directed the award-winning NY FinTech Innovation Lab. He is a founding member/advisor of the Digital Dollar Project, co-authoring its CBDC white paper and leading the first U.S. wholesale CBDC pilot with DTCC. Luke is the author’s son.
