Critics Review

“What distinguishes this volume is the way it weaves together theory, practice, and transformation. From the opening chapter, Reimagining Education in the Digital Age, the editors establish TEL not only as a tool of innovation but also as a field that must be approached with equity, ethics, and inclusivity at its core. This theme runs throughout the book, from the chapters on pedagogical innovations such as flipped learning, gamification, and immersive technologies, through to practical explorations of AI in assessment and self-regulated learning with generative AI.

I strongly recommend this volume to anyone invested in the future of education. It is a timely and significant contribution that captures both the promise and the responsibility of TEL.”

“This volume strikes the right balance between vision and usable practice. A core strength of the book is its thematic architecture, which guides readers from foundational design principles to assessment, inclusion, and real-world implementations. The volume also tackles context and equity with welcome nuance. A state-of-the-art review links self-regulated learning with generative AI, offering actionable ideas for prompt literacy and teacher mediation; companion chapters interrogate hybrid educator identities and the responsible, equitable use of AI, surfacing tensions between policy and practice and centering student and teacher agency.

In short, this is a rigorously curated, practice-ready contribution. It will serve instructors seeking concrete design patterns, programme leaders shaping assessment and quality assurance, and policy makers aligning TEL with institutional mission and public value. I endorse the volume without reservation.”
