About The Author
Iconic Images
Steven Parke is an award-winning photographer with a distinguished career working for prominent clients such as Warner Brothers, HBO, Discovery Channel, Arista Records, DC/Vertigo Comics, Houghton Mifflin, and NBC. He has also photographed numerous a-list entertainers, including Prince, David Bowie, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, and AC/DC. Currently, he serves as the in-house photographer and photo editor for Enchanted Living Magazine.
Mr. Parke was the digital artist for “I, Paparazzi,” a groundbreaking graphic novel published by DC/Vertigo Comics, which received an A grade from Entertainment Weekly. He later created “In the Shadow of Edgar Allan Poe,” the first all-digitally photographed graphic novel, nominated for YALSA’s best horror novel in 2005.
He has presented talks at the American Library Association’s National Conference on graphic novels and digital art. Most recently, Mr. Parke was the chief photographer and director for “Medusa’s Daughter,” a graphic novel project that employed the “sequential photography” technique. This work is slated for release in three formats: a graphic novel, a prose novel, and a short-form version for reluctant and dyslexic readers.
His photographic work has been exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art and in galleries across Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Porto, and London.
He lives in Frederick, MD.
