About the Author

Gregory Hine is a Senior Lecturer at Notre Dame University, Australia. He previously taught for fourteen years in Australia and the United States, predominantly in the areas of mathematics and science for middle- and high-school students. Robyn Reaburn is a Lecturer in Mathematics Education at the University of Tasmania, and was joint recipient of a Federal Government award for Teaching Excellence from the Office for Learning and Teaching. She has previously taught mathematics and science at secondary schools and in TasTAFE, and taught statistics at the University of Tasmania. Judy Anderson is Associate Professor in Mathematics Education, Director of the STEM Teacher Enrichment Academy, and a member of the Academic Board at the University of Sydney. She is currently the President of the Australian Curriculum Studies Association. Linda Galligan is an Associate Professor with the School of Agricultural, Computational and Environmental Sciences at the University of Southern Queensland. Colin Carmichael is a Senior Lecturer in Diploma Programs at the University of Southern Queensland. He taught mathematics and statistics in secondary schools for almost twenty years and for several of these, he was Head of Mathematics. Michael Cavanagh is the Director of the Teacher Education Program in the School of Education at Macquarie University, Sydney and a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education. In 2008, he was awarded an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. Bing Ngu is a Lecturer in the Mathematics Education team within the School of Education at the University of New England, Australia. Bruce White is a Lecturer in Mathematics and Science Teacher Education at the University of South Australia. His teaching background is in secondary mathematics and science (Years 8-12). He is a member of the Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia.
