As Grand Vizier, he can pretty much decide that he will be anything he wants to ... except Caliph, of course. But, since it's Iznogoud, every single one of his decisions is inevitably going to go astray and bring disaster and that's how we like it!
Rene Goscinny, also the author of Lucky Luke and creator of Asterix, is one of the most-read French writers in the world, with around 500 million books sold. Jean Tabary started his career in 1956 at the French comics magazine Vaillant - later renamed Pif - for which he drew Richard et Charlie, Totoche and Corinne et Jeannot before starting his long-lasting collaboration with Goscinny in 1962.
