Gillian Rowe is a full-time writer and researcher, with a focus on working with marginalised groups such as the GRT community. She has edited and authored chapters for this book, as well as edited and written for the Learning Matters imprint on health promotion and ethics and values for nursing associates. Gillian brings extensive experience from the healthcare sector, having been a qualified nurse and later managed a large residential care facility. She completed a PGCE and lectured for Plymouth University and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).

Dr. Scott Ellis holds a doctorate in education and has dedicated the past decade to researching at the intersection of public health, sexual health, and masculinities. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Sunderland in London. He also works with the Care Quality Commission, inspecting healthcare services in England. Scott is a Fellow of Advance HE and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.

Deborah Gee qualified as a registered nurse in 2006 and has worked in various healthcare settings, including Neonatal Intensive Care and Community District Nursing. In 2010, she completed her PGDip SCPHN qualification and has significant experience working with families and young children, assessing and identifying their health needs. Deborah holds an MSc in Education in Professional Practice and recognised teacher status with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has 10 years of teaching experience in higher education.

Michelle Henderson is a qualified adult nurse and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN). She holds an MSc in Healthcare Leadership and is a registered coach, having completed an ILM qualification in coaching and mentoring. Michelle has worked in a range of NHS clinical specialties and non-NHS settings, specialising in public health. Her previous roles include Sister in Occupational Health at a large foundation trust, health protection nurse at Public Health England (now UKSHA), and workforce lead for Nursing and Midwifery development at Health Education England. She has also been a practice tutor supporting Trainee Nursing Associates. Currently, she works at NHS England as a senior nurse. In her spare time, Michelle mentors for the Social Mobility Foundation and is passionate about health inequalities, social mobility, and workforce development.

Ami Jackson began her nursing career as a cadet nurse and completed her pre-registration training in 2007. She furthered her education with a Practice Development degree in 2013. Ami has experience in diverse areas including stroke rehabilitation, acute older persons’ medicine, intensive care, and orthopaedic surgery. She served as a ward sister on an orthopaedic trauma unit, gaining significant leadership and management experience. More recently, she was a Practice Placement Facilitator, leading pre-registration nursing programmes. Ami now tutors Student Nursing Associates at Teesside University and holds a master’s degree in Global Leadership.

Jade Carter-Bennett (now known as Jade Webb) has been a qualified social worker since 2015. She specialises in supporting young people transitioning to adulthood and is currently training as a Practice Educator. Jade holds the Experienced Social Worker level of the Professional Capabilities Framework and works for a local authority as a Senior Practitioner Social Worker in their Preparing for Adulthood Team.
