Fumi Yoshinaga
Fumi Yoshinaga
Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1971, Fumi Yoshinaga is a graduate of Keio University of Tokyo. She made her professional debut in 1994 with The Moon and the Sandals, serialized in Hanaoto magazine. Prior to her professional debut, she participated in many independent comic and fanzine conventions.
Yoshinaga has since created 16 series, several of which have been adapted into motion pictures and animated television series. Her work on Antique Bakery brought her international acclaim, and she has been nominated for the Eisner Award for her titles Flowers of Life and Ooku: The Inner Chamber.
Several of Yoshinaga’s works have been licensed internationally. She recently exhibited her work in the United States as part of the touring gallery exhibition “Shojo Manga: Girl Power!” in Vancouver, Sacramento, New York, Chicago, and Boston.
