Franklin Tao
Franklin Tao, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2017 and a recipient of the University Scholarly Achievement Award in 2019 while serving as a professor at the University of Kansas. He has published more than 210 research articles in the fields of heterogeneous catalysis for transformation of light hydrocarbons including methane, single-atom catalysis, catalytic conversion of biomass derivatives, electrochemical and photocatalytic transformations of small molecules, surface chemistry, catalyst structural dynamics, in situ/ operando characterization techniques and methods, and the development of instrumentation for catalyst characterization under in-situ and operando conditions. He has been a professor or visiting scholar at multiple academic institutions including University of Notre Dame and University of California, Berkeley.
