About The Author
Franco Aureliani
Franco is the co-creator of AW YEAH COMICS! Publishing and retail stores. He created the DINO-MIKE book series and has worked on various comic properties including SUPERMAN FAMILY ADVENTURES, YOUNG JUSTICE, BILLY BATSON and the MAGIC of SHAZAM, and the New York Times bestseller, multi-Eisner award and Harvey award winning series TINY TITANS! (DC Comics); GRIMISS ISLAND and Eisner Award winning ITTY BITTY HELLBOY (Dark Horse Comics); Little ARCHIE (Archie Comics); and FLASH GORDON ADVENTURES (Papercutz). He is also the creator of the original graphic novels THE GHOST, THE OWL (Ringo Award Nominated) and FAE AND THE MOON (Little Bee).
Franco was also a High School Art teacher for 24 years and has shown work in galleries.
He is the co-creator and artist of the comic series SQUISH AND SQUASH with writer Niall O’Rourke, a sci-fi/rescue/adventure series for all ages from Keenspot Entertainment. He also contributed to DC Comics’ DEADMAN TELLS THE SPOOKY TALES, a graphic novel anthology.
Franco enjoys drawing fun, colorful art for all ages, with a focus on Middle Grade books and Graphic Novels. He aims to bring an inviting, vibrant, animated quality to his work and is passionate about creating content enjoyable for everyone.
His past clients include DC Comics, Rebellion (for Monster Fun Magazine), Upper Deck Entertainment, Cryptozoic Entertainment, and Perna Studios, as well as freelance work on independent comics and books.
Franco was influenced by cartoons such as He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and C.O.P.S., as well as later shows like The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time. He also loved reading Calvin and Hobbes, Asterix, and Tintin before getting into superhero comics.
He lives in Auckland, New Zealand, with his wife, three children, and their cat, Maverick. He is represented by Davinia Andrew-Lynch at Curtis Brown in London.
