Critics Review
Frank McManus provides an in-depth treatment of the concept of negligence in the Scots law of delict. Fully aware of the historical complexity of the subject, he nonetheless provides a comprehensive account of the current state of the law on mis-statements, pure economic loss, and psychiatric injury and in addition offers full coverage of factual and legal causation and of defences to negligence actions. The book will be welcomed, not only by students and academic lawyers but also by practitioners and judges. – Hector MacQueen, University of Edinburgh
