Florent Maudoux
Florent Maudoux is a French comic book creator, born in 1979, known for his bold, genre-defying narratives that blend manga, European comics, and pop culture. A graduate of the Gobelins animation school, he began his career in 3D animation and video game design before turning to comics.
He is best known for Freaks’ Squeele, a cult hit that follows misfit students at a superhero academy, mixing humor, action, and emotional depth. Maudoux expanded this universe with spin-offs like Funerailles, Rouge, and Masiko.
His work is deeply influenced by role-playing games, Hong Kong cinema, and classical art, resulting in stories that are both playful and profound.
