An eerie swamp. A hidden lab. A grisly discovery.
When Sadie’s dragged to a middle of nowhere swamp for her school holidays, she finds herself glummer than the mud-infested swamplands themselves. Critics Review
“I couldn’t put it down. It was spooky in the best way, filled with fabulous friendship and gloriously muddy adventure, with a side-serve of science that I adored. Newt was awesome!”
- HM Waugh, author of Mars Awakens, Mars Underground and The Lost Stone of SkyCity
About The Author
Fionna Cosgrove
Born and bred in Perth, WA, Fionna was raised on a far too paranormal diet of X-files, Are you Afraid of the Dark, Fact or Fiction and a plethora of other completely age-inappropriate TV shows. This has led to not only a peculiarly open mind, but also a taste for the delightfully mysterious and macabre.
After studying marine science and working for several years within the commercial fishing industry, Fionna decided to test run those voices that had taken up space in her head for far too long.
When Fionna is not sitting in front of the computer screen trudging through painstaking first drafts, hanging out with her two kids, an oversized pooch and one amusingly logical husband, you can find her listening to podcasts, baking cakes, following that black line in the pool, or with her head in an array of books.
Fionna has had short stories published in the NSW School Magazine, multiple anthologies, and won several writing competitions, including AWC’s Furious Fiction and the KSP Spooky Story Competition. She has self-published a middle grade series of spooky interactive novels, “The Twisted Trails”, and looks forward to creating more creepy, bizarre and somewhat confusing books for children.
Zoe Hoffman recently graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Master of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing. She has many years’ experience working in the publishing sector providing illustrations, cover designs, proofreading, typesetting and editing. She is an all-round illustrator with adaptive styles according to requirements.
