Ernesto Benini
Dr. Ernesto Benini
Dr. Ernesto Benini is a Full Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Padova, Italy, and leads the “TEMPEST” research group. He earned his PhD in Energy Science and Engineering in 2000 from the University of Padova, Italy.
Dr. Benini has over 25 years of experience in the research and development of advanced methods for the design and analysis of high-speed fluid machines, with a particular focus on super-hypersonic propulsion and transonic machines. He has served as a Principal Investigator for numerous private and European research projects and acts as a Scientific Advisor to major international companies in the propulsion sector.
He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Dr. Benini is also a member of the Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe (ACARE) and serves as the Chair of the AIAA Gas Turbine Engines Technical Committee – Education.
He has authored or co-authored more than 350 scientific publications related to the fluid dynamics of machines and holds several international patents.
